today, for a brief moment, it was not today

but 17 years ago; and the wind, which never ceases

and all the air and particles in the air, and

coolness carried in on the late autumn breeze

was back— as it had been once, so many years before—

just the same. and for a moment it was not that moment,

but one I had already known

and already loved.

and it was all so glorious and

beautiful, and quite the same—

and everything, also, was changed.

and so was I.

so, too, was I.
